Festival Mozaic WinterMezzo
Escape the cold this winter and plan a weekend getaway to the beautiful Central Coast for this year’s Festival Mozaic WinterMezzo Series, happening February 21-24, 2019. Immerse yourself in classical music right here in San Luis Obispo as internationally-renowned artists perform the works of Mozart, Britten, Mendelssohn, and more.
Choose from four unique events throughout the series and enjoy a full range of eclectic chamber music. This year’s WinterMezzo Series includes three sequential ways to connect with the music through the Learn, Dine, and Listen events, featuring pianist Anna Polonsky and Music Director Scott Yoo. Beyond the talented musicians, you can also experience memorable venues throughout San Luis Obispo like the lovely Congregation Beth David, and the beautiful, comfortable home of Sharon and Dennis Schneider.

- Learn | Notable Encounter Encore – Bach’s Violin Partita: Join music director Scott Yoo for an encore presentation of his October 2018 Notable Encounter, as he explores Back’s second partita for solo violin. This one-hour tour behind a true violin masterpiece will include a discussion about Bach’s life, history of the work, and a full performance of the entire Violin Partita.

- Learn | Notable Encounter Insight: Join festival artists on a one-hour tour behind Britten’s Cello Sonata and Mozart’s Piano Trio, K. 254. Learn about the composers’ lives, context of the pieces, and perspective from a performer’s point of view.

- Dine | Notable Encounter Dinner: On Saturday night, enjoy a delicious three-course dinner from SLO’s own Field to Table Catering, while sipping on pairings from Tablas Creek Vineyards. You’ll spend the evening enjoying the interactive presentation of Mendelssohn’s first piano trio, led by Scott Yoo.
